Alien Ears

Category: Impressions

Thousands of Alien Ears customers have successfully taken their own ear impressions using our free, professional-grade kit — and we’re proud to offer that option.

But taking impressions should be done by a licensed audiologist or ENT

Why We Still Recommend a Professional

While our kits are designed for accuracy and ease of use, they’re intended for professional application.  That’s why we require a signed waiver before shipping — to ensure customers understand the risks and responsibilities involved.

Ear impressions involve inserting material deep into the canal, and while most people do just fine, a trained professional can ensure:

  • Proper depth and coverage
  • Safe technique
  • Optimal results for custom monitor fit

The Bottom Line

  • Our kits are free and high-end, but intended for professional use
  • We strongly recommend seeing a licensed audiologist or ENT for best results
  • A signed waiver is required before ordering the kit

A Surprising Fact

We occasionally receive impressions from audiologists or ENTs that aren’t usable — about 5% fall short due to improper depth, shape, or technique.

Why Alien Ears Is Different

We’re proud to be the only company that sends out high-end impression kits for free — because we believe great monitors should be accessible, not overpriced.
